<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">&nbsp;</span></strong></p><p><strong>Our Mission</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>The SYC Pantry is dedicated to providing food assistance with compassion and dignity to individuals and families in need in Southern York County. We strive to foster a supportive environment where our community comes together to care for one another.</p><p><strong>Working Together to Fight Hunger in Southern York County</strong></p><p>The Southern York County (SYC) Pantry is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization founded in 1982 as a social justice initiative. For over four decades, we have remained dedicated to serving individuals and families in need throughout our local communities with dignity and compassion.&nbsp; We proudly support residents of Stewartstown, Felton, New Freedom, Shrewsbury, Railroad, Seven Valleys, Glen Rock, Glenville, Jacobus, Loganville, Jefferson, and Spring Grove offering food and energy assistance to help ease the burden of financial hardship.</p><p><strong>A Community-Powered Effort</strong></p><p>The Pantry is hosted on the grounds of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where it operates out of the church’s Outreach Center.&nbsp; We are overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors and rely on the collaboration of: Local community churches, faith-based and civic organizations, generous businesses and individual donors, and a committed network of volunteers.&nbsp; Every donation, whether financial, in-kind, or time, directly supports our mission. 100% of all contributions go toward helping our neighbors in need.</p><p><strong>Why We Serve</strong></p><p>Many of the families we assist are employed, yet still struggle to put food on the table due to rising living costs and limited income. We see the greatest demand during the holiday season, but hunger persists year-round. To meet this need, the SYC Pantry is the only local pantry that delivers food seven days a week, ensuring ongoing support for those who may lack access to transportation or face mobility challenges.&nbsp; Currently, we serve more than 130 families each month, and that number continues to grow.&nbsp; Our commitment is rooted in the belief that no one in our community should go hungry.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
