Families are referred to Open House Ministries through local agencies, community partners, and churches. Space is limited, and acceptance depends on both availability and the family’s willingness to participate in our program. For current availability and next steps, contact Jon Nichols at 360-737-0300 or jon.nichols@sheltered.org.
If accepted, they receive safe housing plus food, clothing, basic necessities, and full program support during their stay.
Christian family shelter offering a safe, sober, caring community. Families are treated with dignity, supported in healing mind, body, and spirit, and held accountable. Residents receive tools, resources, and referrals to become stable and self-sufficient. As long as there is progress, families can stay as long as needed, one week at a time.
When space is available, families meet one-on-one with our case management team to talk through needs and goals.
Vocational Training: Hands-on job training and pathways to employment.
Since 1986, Open House Ministries has served as a place of hope in Vancouver. Founded to respond to the growing need among homeless families, it began by meeting immediate needs like food, clothing, and shelter while recognizing that long-term support is also essential. From the start, the focus has been on caring for families in practical ways, grounded in a Christ-centered foundation.
