We are Christian based because our church family provides funds to shop at Second Harvest Food Bank. Clients enter at the Church Fellowship Hall at Mt. Zion Church, New Clients are required to fill out a short application and then drive up to the Food Pantry building, where boxes of food are carried to their cars by volunteers. Over 50 volunteers work to make our food pantry possible. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes on all day of food pantry distribution day, such as loading and unloading the Second Harvest food truck; making and sorting frozen food boxes; sorting bread and pastries into bags; and we have 2 volunteers who clean the pantry building. Volunteers also pack regular and USDA food boxes during the weeks between food pantries. This pantry has been very blessed to have enough food so that every client who comes to us will go home with food!! Our mission is to provide food supplements to those in need in our community and surrounding communities and to listen to each client and give direction to other places that can provide needs other than food.
