Anyone who needs help with food can come to the food shelf during open hours. No appointment is needed and visitors are served first come, first served. A brief intake process records name, address, number of people in the household, and household income. You may visit the food shelf 1 time per month. We operate on a client-choice model.
No I.D. or proof of income is required to sign up for the food shelf. We will ask for your name and an address (or your current city of residence if you are houseless), and the number of persons in your household or family.
If experiencing an emergency or temporary problems with basic necessities, the food shelf may help with more than food. Complete the emergency assistance application and return it to the emergency assistance committee; the committee reviews requests and contacts you. Information is confidential.
The Longville Area Food Shelf is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is “to involve our communities to end hunger”. It also operates the Tossed & Found Boutique Thrift Store with all proceeds benefiting the Longville Area Food Shelf.
