About This Pantry

http://www.independenceareafoodpantry.comOur mission is Community Building through service to the food insecure of Buchanan County, IA. Our primary concern is providing a five-day supply of nutritionally balanced meals with genuine friendliness and regard for the dignity of our clients. To accomplish that goal, we call upon the local Community for funding and volunteer staffing. Clients, donors, and volunteers who are diverse in age and background interact and form relationships. Our concern and care for each other extend to our earth, as well. Partnering with local restaurants and retailers, we rescue food that would otherwise go to the landfill, getting it to people who are in need. Our attitude is “Each person who walks through our doors is valued and shall be treated with respect.”
